To Dream of Dreams

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Oh, the familiar pheromone
from the flower of you,
the vetiver grasses
we lay upon
with enamored eyes,
and flaring nostrils,
your misty breath,
which speak of love.
Tell me your dreams,
are they like mine?
On the tongue,
sweet melancholy,
Kiss hello, kiss good night.
In separate dreams,
Passion roots grow,
reaching across chasms
in the midnight world.
The fiery sunrise awakens
dewy skin and searching lips.
Tears cloud sleepy eyes
greeting the blue sky
rushing past like wind
through soprano chimes.
Sunset returns,
a burning fire
to drown our horizons
in mystic themes,
and sleep comes restless
in separate dreams
at different times.
Reach across the chasm
of monochrome nights.
Set me on fire
with delicate touches,
sun on your lips,
stars in your eyes,
Moon skin reflections,
Deep ocean kisses.
I confess my love,
ourselves entwined.
Dream with me
in our bed of fire
consumed with passion,
love soft, so sublime.
Surrender our spirits
to the wheel of time,
and dream of dreams
set free on ocean tides.

    1. Thank you so much Joni. That means a lot coming from you. I say, I’ll never learn if I don’t try and I certainly don’t mind trying. ☺️

    1. Wow! Thank you so much Rene. Poetry is not my strength, but I’m fascinated and inspired to work on it and of course, to master something, it has to be exercised infinitely with care. Having exceptional mentors is definitely a plus. I’m down for that.

  3. To find that, intricate connection with someone, anyone, whom you feel like you know her/him for life, it’s, truly hard, and, once someone finds that, s/he should not, let go, because this once-in-a-lifetime love, is not going to, happen, again…

As a former “Alpha Male” (in my mind only) I’d like to stick my nose in the center of that pistil and take a deep whiff of the pheromone myself. I imagine it’s enchanting, and something I haven’t sniffed for quite a few days. Take me back, Hype…

    1. That opening is natural biology and metaphoric. I leave the meaning of the metaphor to my reader as everyone should have the luxury to see it as it best suits them. Pheromones are the essence that leads to blissful endeavors and ultimately survival of the species. How could that ever be wrong or inappropriate? I was always the Sigma male that took great pleasure in mastering the others while they remained unaware they had been subjugated to my will. Muhwaaah ha haaa! Well, as you said, in my mind only – as a coping mechanism. I believe in the awesome power of love, lust, desire, sensuality, sexuality, and the unwavering pursuit of happiness and contentment. But, I limit that to positive endeavors rather than the skull buggery that has taken over the world. Never pass up a chance to indulge in the exotic effects of pheromones. A bazillion lovers can’t be wrong.

  5. Pheromones. I know them well. That awesome scent that takes over the masculine ID and gets him to buy her homes, cars, dresses, vacations, have babies. Enchanted. Entrapped.

    1. Yes! Magic Pixie dust. I did notice the article you sent outlining the drastic decline in male fertility and I believe all those masks that filtered out pheromones while quaffing quantum quantities of nano organisms was surely the culprit.

    1. I have another theory. The more ridiculous one’s conspiracy, the more it is believed. This one should really panic the fellows.

        1. It’s a brilliant plan and supports our poo slinging monkey devolution theories as well. If Paul can get those nanites spread around we can all drink bourbon and do some hive think to wiggle out of this mess.

Oh yes, Loins. But my AI auto incorrect tries to save me from myself all the time and mucks up all the parts of speech I like to use.

  8. The best part, to me, is having fond memories of times like these but too satisfied with the present to want to go back in time.

I like that Hetty. It’s okay to remember fond memories but I like what I’m doing now enough to keep doing it. You have a good perspective on it.
