We’ve done it! Holly Rene Hunter from House of Heart and I have published our first Short Story collaborative book on this website. The Sad Café is a beloved theme on Rene’s Website and we put together a story of the two principal characters, Renate and David. More books of this intrepid couple are in the works.

Also, I am working on 13 of the books I’ve written since 2012 to include an anthology of short stories and poems. They will all be free to read and download from this site and House of Heart.

      Thank you Chris. You have inspired me to use AI graphics on my website. No more searching for hours for just the right image done by someone else. It’s ironic that as my library grows, my eyesight fades. But, all of my collection will someday be in someone else library, I hope.

          Yes, those eyes have seen a lot and hopefully will continue to see much more. I used to be called Eagle Eye because I could see very well what others couldn’t. Now they call me Ole Squinty. 🤤

            That’s what my mother used to tell me was good for my eyesight.

            Ah, talking about eating carrots 🥕 reminds me of watching The Bugs Bunny Road Runner Hour on television on Saturday afternoons back in my childhood with all those great Warner Brothers cartoon characters Bugs, Road Runner, Coyote, Tweety and Sylvester etc.

              I too have very fond memories of Looney Tunes cartoons. I’ll be munching on them carrots as it seems my mother also believed carrots were good for eyesight. I need cataract surgery but have this deep fear of doctors cutting on my eyes.

          It’s a perfect team effort, Rene. I’ve been able to pour a lot of thought into the purpose of our collective dream team and how it not only helps us with the focus on positive and endearing stories through our effort, it also extends to your work with others as well. The end result is a beautiful world people can put aside their worldly days filled with all frustrations and worries, to rest and enjoy.

          I’ve learned that the structure of short chapters allows a reader to consume the story in small bites or as quickly as they like. I think it’s a new approach that conventional writing hasn’t caught on to just yet. I read a lot when I have time and I find myself bogging down in long chapters of 1000 page novels or non-fiction works.

          I’m finding that I do have more time than I thought for our projects, so with that, I hope to press on with the gusto of a hounddog on a hambone. 🙂

            You’ve expressed this joy of a project of ours beautifully Dan. The format developed by sheer happenstance becominga meaningful flow of thoughts responding to thoughts evolving to a meaningful and delightful experience in writing. Who knew the initial paragraphs would build one on the other into an exciting and compelling narrative that is also an escape from the world’s woes to a fantastical world of adventures.

          It certainly does! I was surprised that Tiger Mom responded so well to therapy and treatment but she isn’t out for the dark, just dealing with it as well as anyone could hope and that is good enough.

    Compliments, René and Dan. Now all I have to do is to figure a way to read it on my Ipad. Yet another challenge… LOL. I had read fragments before on House of heart. I can’t wait to defeat the computer minions who stand in the way…

      Hi Brian. If you download the ePub version of the book and click on it, the book will open in Apple Books and store a copy in the Apple Books library for you to read anytime you like. Rene is equally an exquisite poet and writer. Her beautiful soul is evident in all she does. There are more works hidden in plain view for her readers equally captivating providing the reader an escape from the world of troubles to a story about the power of love and courage. Stay tuned! 🙂

        Hi Dan. It did open in the Books library. So I could read it at leisure… Very nice… I enjoyed the story. I also felt you might have room for further developments. The Colombian Embassy could open a parallel story, you could also develop more in London. As it is it’s a very nice story.
